This story was originally published in March 2018. (If you want to authenticate a user in Node.js or other non-browser environment, you must handle the sign-in flow manually. UPDATED with Google 2FA adoption results. If you are building a web app, the easiest way to authenticate your users with Firebase using their Google Accounts is to handle the sign-in flow with the Firebase JavaScript SDK. Select the kind of phone you are transferring the accounts to, and then the website will generate a QR code that you can scan. When I enter the 6-digit code from Google Authenticator, the same code that is linked to the email used to Sign into Uplay, I am prompted with a sign-in error the code did not work. TOTP can be enabled in two ways, i.e., from the login page and the profile section. To know how to enable the device lock, see How to enable device lock on mobile. To avoid using TOTP, enable the device lock. Go to your Google Account page, select Security in the left-hand navbar, select 2-Step Verification, scroll down to Authenticator app and select "Change phone." When I sign into Uplay, I have 2-step verification (2Fa) set up and prompts a Google Authenticator App Sign-in Code. LastPass Authenticator on Google Play (WEB) and App store (WEB). If an iPhone is involved in any step of this procedure, you'll have to use a desktop or laptop computer instead. Scan the QR code on the old phone with the new phone's camera, and you'll be all set. But as of May 2020, you can easily transfer all your authenticator "seeds" directly from one Android phone to another. The verification code can be generated by the Google Authenticator. This means that in addition to your password, youll also need to enter a code that is generated by the Google Authenticator app on your phone. Until recently, Google Authenticator made you start from scratch all over again when you got a new phone. Google Authenticator adds an extra layer of security to your online accounts by adding a second step of verification when you sign in. Syncing the time in the Google Authenticator app wont affect the time setting on your phone. You should find that your Google Authenticator codes work properly after this. How to transfer Google Authenticator to a new phone Launch the app, tap the menu button (the three dots at the top right of the screen), and go to Settings > Time Correction for Codes > Sync now.
